Importance economic empowerment in Kenya

Economic empowerment in Kenya was specifically introduced so as to help improve the lives of the Kenyan citizens due to lack of enough jobs.

Many people could not make a living and it is for that reason that the economic empowerment programs were introduced to help them not to resort into drugs or stealing.

The project was therefore aimed at empowering people socially and economically in the market oriented technical, entrepreneurial and managerial skills, building their confidence and empowering skills necessary to improve their access to productive resources and sustainable earning potential.

The programs were also geared at ensuring that the youth and women are educated on the health risks that come with the use of drugs. Help them not to engage in unnecessary sexual behaviour which could lead to them contracting sexual y transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancies and also to empower the women.

Benefits of economic empowerment in Kenya

A healthy nation

A nation with empowered citizens is a healthy nation both economically and socially. This way the country’s economy is able to grow knowing almost all the countries citizens are on board.

Prosperity

A nation which invests in its youth and young people and engages them in the building activities of the nation prospers. This way the youth will not feel left out in the countries development.

Empowered and skilled people

Empowering people economically will lead to having a nation with citizens who know what they want in life and who are also full of skills from different sectors. With this skills many are able to start their own businesses.

Entrepreneurship

With the skills taught in these empowerment programs many of them are able to learn entrepreneurial skills where by most of them are able to start their small businesses.

Employment

The issue of unemployment has been a major challenge as far as the youth are concerned. Empowering the youth will therefore lead to most of them starting their own businesses and thus being self employed instead of just relying on the government to give them employment. The young entrepreneurs would also employ other youths in their businesses and thus reducing the rate of unemployment.

National development

An empowered generation is able to contribute to the development of the nation by giving relevant contributions and resolutions to the issues affecting the country which will in turn help it to prosper.
People who are not empowered have a tendency of waiting and asking the government to help them because they are idle. Empowering them will therefore help them stand on their own and stop asking the government for help unnecessarily.

Resolve and advocate youth issues affecting the nation

A nation which empowers its citizens is able to solve issues affecting its people locally and internationally because they will be involved in the solving of the issues.

Economic empowerment in Kenya has therefore given many people in this country a new face whereby they have been empowered economically and are able to make a living and stand up for themselves.
